Our microscope accessory-kits provide the essential tools for scientific exploration with your microscope. The AK-MSP02 includes a beautifully-illustrated book full of history and experiments, tools for preparing your own samples, as well as a popular STEM experiment that allows you to observe first-hand the culturing of microorganisms.
"The World of the Microscope" is the fundamental resource on microscopes. It includes historicval information about microscopes, and how they have been used to improve our knowledge of science. There are elaborate, colorful illustrations of experiments that can be done at home.
Along with an ample supply of blank specimen-slides, some professionally-prepared slides are provided. There are several tools for collecting and preparing the specimens, including swabs, tweezers, and a pick. Two common stains are included to add color to hard-to-see specimens, like cells.
The kit also includes everything you need to culture microorganisms at home. Petri dishes and nutrient agar provide the necessary culturing environment. Use the included swabs to collect samples from various household items and apply to the agar. In a matter of days, you can see an assortment of microorganisms growing, including bacetria and molds.
