Welcome to our small family farm here in Michigan where we have a mix of colors including all Jumbo in size: Pearl, Golden Manchurian and Italian, XXL White, Tibetin, Rosetta, Pharaoh, Sparkly Collection, Falb Fee, Egyptian, Pansy, Pansy Fee, we are also starting to add in Blue/Blau, Grau Fee, Range, Autumn Amber, Silver, and Tuxedo variations of some of the colors which may be included in your order. These are large birds that regularly reach 14-15 oz on most colors with the smallest size of our assorted color breeders being 13oz, the XXL whites get even larger 16 to 17 oz, some over 18 oz, we are working on getting all the colors all even larger yet, they are great for both meat and eggs. Jumbo refers to the size of the birds, some birds lay larger eggs than others but will absolutely be from Jumbo Size Birds. This listing is for a mix of those colors, we are not selling custom requests for specific colors or other sized orders at this time. Fast-Growing: Jumbo Coturnix quail mature quickly and begin laying eggs at around 6-8 weeks of age. They can lay around 300 eggs per year. We ship in custom fit quail foam shippers for the best protection available for safe travels which is a large part of the cost of shipping. We are not offering local pick up at this time. We regularly check fertility rates and frequently incubate our own eggs for a way to be self sustainable, we enjoy quail for meat and eggs for our family and also to make sure you are getting high quality, healthy and fertile hatching eggs. *********Please know that especially with shipped eggs, lack of development does NOT equal infertility. The eggs that leave our farm are fertile, what happens after they leave here is unpredictable. Shipped eggs will often appear unfertilized if they experience trauma during transit, such as being dropped, tossed, rolled, x-rayed, the jostling/vibration during a rough transit, or being subjected to too hot or cold conditions or if your eggs get delayed in transit, this can all impact your hatch rate. Generally, if an egg does not develop at all, it was damaged during shipping. If it started to develop, but did not hatch, it is likely due to conditions in the incubator. In most non professional incubators it is very common to see fluctuations in temperature and humidity, and hot and cold spots. Too high of humidity at lockdown can make the inner membrane sticky and prevent the chicks from hatching. Too high of humidity during incubation can decrease the size of the air cell, which can cause issues when the chick tries to hatch. This is why we always recommend a secondary hygrometer/thermometer in the incubator to make sure it is reading correctly. Please note that checking for fertility is only accurate if eggs are fresh/non incubated. After a complete incubation, the blastoderm is so degraded that it’s impossible to tell for certain if an undeveloped egg was fertile or not. You may get anywhere from a 0-100% hatch rate, please do not purchase if you are not aware of the risk of purchasing shipped hatching eggs. All USPS Priority Mail Is Insured! Please note if you received a package that is noticeably damaged with any cracked eggs please take photos before opening and throughout the entire process. You will need to file a claim with USPS online or in person at the post office where you will need to save your shipping box, packaging, all cracked eggs to bring to the post office or file a claim online. We ship in foam so this hopefully is not the case but you are protected if it does. Please know that if the package was damaged during shipping including being dropped that could scramble the eggs which would cause them to not be hatchable so please report any damage to the post office. Hatching shipped eggs is a gamble, We package very well in foam quail egg shippers but we can not control the way the eggs are handled after they leave the farm during shipping or incubation. Hatching eggs are best incubated within 10 days, if your package is late please file a claim with the post office, they carry insurance on priority mail. Please do not ask for a refund as we can not control the post office or how the eggs are stored or incubated.
