Part of the Kidde wireless system, the smoke alarm can be interconnected with other alarms without wires, so that when one alarm is triggered, all alarms will sound. This provides added detection from fire for your home and family. Ionization sensing alarms may detect invisible fire particles (associated with flaming fires) sooner than photoelectric alarms; we recommend installing both ionization and photoelectric smoke detectors in your home for maximum protection. Powered by 3-AA alkaline batteries, the smoke alarm provides reliable detection from smoke or fire, even during power outages. The Kidde battery-powered smoke detector is easy to install, with a simple mounting plate and twist-off mounting that lets you install or replace the batteries quickly and safely. Red LEDs alert you to the alarm's status: Standby Mode - flashes every 40 seconds to indicate the smoke alarm is operating properly; Alarm Mode - flashes every second while sounding an 85-decibel alarm to signify that the smoke detector sensed a smoke hazard; Alarm Memory – flashes every second to indicate the alarm has been activated and will continue to flash until smoke alarm is reset; and Hush® mode - silences the alarm for approximately 7 minutes and flashes every two seconds. CO is often called the “invisible killer” because you can’t see it or smell it, and in large concentrations it can be fatal, so having working carbon monoxide detectors is vital. The compact design means that when you plug in the carbon monoxide detector to a standard wall outlet, you'll still have space to use the second outlet. When the CO alarm detects carbon monoxide gas, 4 loud beeps will sound to alert you to the danger and a red LED will illuminate. The CO detector also features a Replacement Alert, which chirps 2 times every 30 seconds to indicate that it's time to replace the detector.
