Product Description
The Gladius Vesparum is beautifully handcrafted Roman gladius style swords. Unlike most other gladius this sword features a "wasp style blade" which transitions from the pointed tip to a wide flare than becoming more narrow before entering the hilt. This design creates a wide entry point when thrusting but also minimizes the weight of the blade. Blade is constructed of durable EN45 carbon spring steel and is provided with a sharpened edge. This magnificent sword comes with a beautifully carved wooden grip. Each segment of the grip is carved deep for a secure hold, and separated with polished brass spacers for that classy "I have style” sort of look. The grip is constructed from Indian hardwood which is light yet structurally durable. The sword features a full-tang for superior strength, and a customary brass shock plate has been mounted at the base of the guard. The scabbard from this sword is also hardwood, wrapped in a russet leather with brass accents at the throat and tip. Two brass belt rings are affixed to the throat.
