Review AI Summary

Customers find the product easy to install and adjust. They say it works well for hauling trailers and hitches. The back end doesn't sag as much, which improves stability and ride quality. The springs are well-made and stiffen up older leaf springs without bottoming out.

Actual installation time was about two hours on a 2004 Ford F150 XL 4x4 V6 regular cab short bed. By the way this truck had already had a lowering kit installed which reduced ride height by about 4 to 5 inches. Needed to supplement rear load carrying capability to tow a camper with a GVWR of around 3000 lbs. This kit easily achieved that, but the surprising thing is that it improved the unloaded handling and ride of the truck dramatically. Anyone who knows the 1997 to 2004 (Heritiage) F150s have a nice stock ride but have the annoying rear axle oscillation over road irregularites (axle bounces up and down about 3 to 4 times after hitting a bump).. this kit eliminated 90% of that and also quite remarkably reduces body roll in turns and overall handling. Instructions are clear. Couldn't recommend this kit more.

I installed this on my 1996 GMC Sierra ext Cab with the 5.0 to prepare it for some heavy towing when I move. I will have about 1000 lbs in the bed, and a 3300 lb trailer, so I am pushing this 20 year old K1500 pretty hard based on the recommended specs. So, the packaging was excellent, and prime shipping was 2 days, not to mention, the cheapest price I could find at under 90 dollars on Amazon, so great value. Install was super easy. The hardest part was removing my factory axle u bolts (had to grind them out). Other than that, I just put the 991's in place, long side to the rear, clamped them to the axle, raised my vehicle by the frame, u-bolted them to the leaf springs, and torqued them as equally as I could. I got about a 3/4" lift unloaded at my current torque (maybe 75% of max spring load). I saw an immediate difference in the suspension, and I am uploading a video to show the before and after. There is a huge difference in body roll. You can see how well this keeps the truck level compared to stock. I highly recommend this product if you need to push your vehicle to its reasonable working limit. For $85 you can improve your work truck, ride, and stability without a load leveling hitch or new leaf springs, which cost hundreds of dollars. Earned 5 stars. I will update after my 800 mile move.
