During 2011, The British Standards Institute published BS 8599-1: 2011 Workplace First Aid Kits. This clearly established a standard for workplace first aid provisions; the contents of the new kits are more appropriately aligned with today’s workplace risks and first aid needs. The BS 8599-1 first aid kits meet the needs of the modern workplace. It is recommended that low risk workplaces have at least one medium first aid kit per 25-50 employees. High risk workplaces should have at least one medium first aid kit per 5-25 employees.
